Viscount Rotational Mouldings’ (VRM) Tankmasta® patented 'Donut' and 'Bagel' Toroid underground tanks are the market leading underground water storage option. Requiring only shallow excavation (1.4mtrs), offering a structural design capable of being installed in heavy duty load situations.

Features
Low Cost Installation
The Toroid is designed to provide you with low cost installation due to the low profile reducing the excavation depth. This reduced depth also minimizes the chance of hitting hard rock and ground water, saving on both excavation and ballast costs.

Safe Working Environment
As most Toroid installations do not exceed an excavation depth of 1500mm, there is no requirement to provide perimeter fencing or excavation shoring as required under Worksafe’s Working at Depth Guidelines (Mines Act - Trenching) 1982.
Toroid low profile undergrounds - safer, easier and quicker installations.

Flexible Installation
As no two installations are ever the same, VRM has developed a range of simple to use accessories to make life easy for you. Such as the cone risers. The cone riser can be used to adjust the depth of an installation by up to 600mm per riser. If a tank is installed early in the developmental stages, the cone riser also has a secondary benefit of being a beacon that can establish the location of the tank while ground works continues. When the final site level has been determined, simply cut off the top of the cone riser and install the adjustable collar to achieve the perfect finish. Or the adjustable collars; make a final adjustment of up to 75mm to ensure the lid of the tank is matched to the needs of its surrounding environment

Retention/Detention System
Incorporating a retention / detention system is easily achieved by linking the interconnection foot with the barrel filter and positioning the overflow pipe work at the desired storage level (More details are available in the “Pre-Installation Reference Guide”)

Done & Dusted
Building? Coordinating a building site and traffic management is crucial to the hand-over date. Toroid undergrounds ticks the box for water storage without congesting the busiest time of the build. They can be installed anywhere on site, including the set back zone for the house, in the preliminary stages. They can also be installed in trafficable areas such as under the driveway well before building commences.

Water Table
Plastic weighs less than water, so if an empty tank comes in contact with ground water it will want to float. The Toroid's patented compression ballast system has the entire ballast sitting on top of the tank as a dead weight, providing the most reliable protection against hydrostatic lift.
(Not all installations will encounter this issue and this is the reason all installations must undergo an individual site evaluation. If in doubt, work to the worst case scenario and assume that ballast should be used.)

Chemical Resistance
The chemical resistance of the tank has a profound effect on the underground tank’s life span. The Toroid is resistant from decay internally and externally, maintaining hassle free water storage.

Toroid Accessories

accessories
23TF0605: 100mm PVC BSP Coupling
Fitted to the interconnection foot when the option of interconnect or retention / detention is required.

23TF0602: 100mm Swivel Joint
It is critical that a 100mm swivel joint be placed close to the tank to absorb any ground pressure exerted onto the pipe work. Using a swivel joint will minimize uneven loading on the tank fittings.

23TF0601: 100mm Backflow Valve
Placed in the tanks overflow, a backflow prevention valve will stop storm water back flowing into the tank.

TA2022: Cone Riser
The cone riser can be used both to raise the tank’s inlet height and also in situations where the final site level is unknown. Work can continue around the site and the final adjustments can be made after all site work is complete.

TA1960: Adjustable Collar
Adjustable collar and lockable lid. The collar can be used when minor alterations on either a horizontal or vertical axis are required and ensure that the inlet is flush with the ground, irrespective of varying installation situations.

Interconnecttoroids    Increase Capacity
Toroids can be coupled together in any combination to achieve greater capacities
by simply using the interconnection foot.
Note: The Toroid's new independent filter system means interconnect tanks can be served by just one barrel filter assembly.

Retention / Detention
The interconnection foot is also the foundation of a retention / detention system. By drilling a hole to match the discharge rate through the interconnection foot, positioning the overflow pipe at the desired storage level and linking this with the barrel filters overflow a simple, effective 100mm retention / detention system can be created.
